Working with Miscarriage and Stillbirth – A Doula’s Guide
Elizabeth Petrucelli, SBD, CCCE; will explore the complex topic of miscarriage and stillbirth which many doulas face. Participants will learn the types of loss and how to work with families who are experiencing an unexpected loss. We will explore in an interactive yet informal workshop; how birth professionals can provide support during a pregnancy that ends in miscarriage or stillbirth; how to provide support during the physical event of the loss; how to support after a loss; and how the birth professional can care for themselves following the loss. We will end the workshop with local resources and information to give to clients, as well as resources for the birth professional. Participants will be given an assignment prior to attending the workshop that will help them build a network of understanding surrounding the options available to families enduring miscarriage and stillbirth. (Assignment will be sent following confirmed registration of the workshop).
